Jennette S. Winters, PhD, has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

LAKE VILLA, IL, November 15, 2021 – Jennette S. Winters, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Winters initially earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1992. She continued her studies at Aurora University, obtaining a Master of Arts in teaching in 2000 and a Master of Arts in educational leadership in 2002. Furthering her expertise, Dr. Winters graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in assessment, evaluation and accountability from Walden University in 2021.

Dr. Winters began her career as a teacher and curriculum and professional development coordinator for the Gavin School District 37 from 1993 to 2006. Between 2005 and 2016, she worked as a math and science coordinator for the Lake County Regional Office of Education before advancing to the position as the director of curriculum and instruction for Avoca School District. In 2019, Dr. Winters was appointed as the director of curriculum and instruction for West Northfield School District.

Dr. Winters currently excels as an educational consultant for her own company, Jennie Winters Educational Consulting, and a contractual reviewer for EdReports.org. In addition to her primary career path, she was also active as a project lead for a model mathematics curriculum project for the Illinois State Board of Education from 2012 to 2015. In these roles, she helps improve school districts by redesigning their systems while guiding the districts in updating their systems, utilizing data from the students’ national assessments and focusing on developing standards-based systems for curriculum, assessment and instruction. In recognition of her dedication and expertise, Dr. Winters was honored with the Lee Yunker Mathematics Leadership Award from the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics in 2016.

As part of her dedication to her field, Dr. Winters is a member of the American Educational Research Association, the National Council of Teachers in Mathematics, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the National Science Teaching Association. She prides herself on making lasting connections in her field and collaborating with colleagues to give and receive feedback. Dr. Winters plans to teach at a university level in addition to publishing her own research in the coming years.
